THE WORLD IN ONE CITY
The tournament promises to be an exciting event, spanning three weeks and ending on Sunday, June 30th, 2024. Each weekday will feature group matches: Group A on Mondays, Group B on Tuesdays, Group C on Wednesdays, and Group D on Thursdays. In the final week, the knockout stages will commence with the quarter-finals on Monday, June 24th, and Tuesday, June 25th, followed by the semi-finals on Thursday, June 27th. The tournament will culminate in the grand finale on Sunday, June 30th. Matches will kick off at 7pm and 8.30pm, played on half pitches with kick-ins replacing throw-ins, ensuring fast-paced and dynamic gameplay.
THE GROUP STAGE DRAW
The draw for the group stages is scheduled to take place on May 15th, marking a crucial milestone in the tournament's preparation. This event sets the stage for the upcoming matches, determining the composition of each group and the initial matchups. Teams eagerly await the draw, as it provides clarity on their opponents and allows them to begin strategizing for the competition ahead. QUALIFICATION
We're excited to introduce a new phase to this year's tournament at The World In One City (WIOC) - Qualification. Starting during the week beginning Monday 29th April, this marks a significant expansion in our event's scale and excitement. Teams will compete fiercely for their spot in the main event, showcasing their skills and passion for the game. The addition of qualification rounds not only intensifies the competition but also broadens the tournament's inclusivity, allowing more teams to join in the celebration of football and cultural diversity.
